Michael Jarvis

List of horses in training

Michael Jarvis, who joined HTR trainers' roster in 2006, first gained his training licence in 1968. His father, Andrew was a jumps jockey, and Michael's first job in racing was with Bob Turnell. Following a spell with Ryan Price, Michael spent six years with Towser Gosden (John's father), gaining valuable experience in stable management and the art of getting horses fit. He spent a further two years with Gordon Smyth and then eight years as one of David Robinson's private trainers.

Since setting up on his own at Kremlin House Stables, he has trained numerous top class horses including the 1989 Prix de l'Arc de Triomphe winner, Carroll House, the French Derby winner, Holding Court, in 2000, the 2001 Sagitta 1,000 Guineas winner, Ameerat, the 2004 Vodafone Oaks winner, Eswarrah and Rakti winner of the 2003 Emirates Airline Champion Stakes (Gr 1) at Newmarket and The Prince of Wales's Stakes (Gr 1) at Royal Ascot.

Last season Michael trained HTR'S highly talented Tiger Eye to win the Tattersalls Timeform Fillies' 800 in hugely impressive style. She was immediately installed as one of the favourites for this year's 1000 Guineas, but tragically contracted a terminal illness and had to be put down.

Known as "the trainer's trainer", Michael Jarvis has a tremendous reputation and quite rightly so as he consistently produces horses to perform at the highest level and to do so all over the world year after year.
