Michael Bell


Michael Bell has been training at the historic Fitzroy House in Newmarket since he took out his licence in 1989. After a memorable season in 1994 which saw 6 individual Group winners and over 70 winners, his success caught the eye of Harry Herbert who sent him a yearling for the first time.

Since then Michael has trained a number top class horses for HTR including Housemaster (fourth in the Epsom Derby in 1998), Saturn and Revenue. 2005 was to bring the association to the new heights when Motivator stormed to victory in the Epsom Derby.

Michael had his most successful season in 2008, sending out a record 76 winners, including HTR'S Redford, Furnace and Regime. In 2009, he will have the largest number of horses in training since he started, including the Queen's highly promising Four Winds.
