Tudor Minstrel is still regarded by many as the greatest winner of The 2000 Guineas, a race he won in 1947 by a staggering eight lengths. Tudor Minstrel was blessed with phenomenal speed despite being by Owen Tudor who won The Gold Cup at Ascot. After his Guineas triumph people thought that he was a certainty in The Derby but he raced too freely eventually finishing fourth.
Unbelievably these two stalwarts of the HTR training ranks have never been paired together before which must have been a major oversight on my part! Quite apart from their tremendous success with our horses which include the Vodafone Derby winner Motivator and the German 2000 Guineas winner Brunel, they also provide a particularly warm welcome for anyone visiting their Newmarket stables.
