This syndicate is named after the brilliant racehorse, Gimcrack, who, despite being only fourteen hands tall, won twenty-five races from his thirty-five starts in this country. The painting of him by George Stubbs is generally regarded to be the best picture within The Rooms and it is also regarded as one of the finest sporting paintings in existence.
