Royal Palace was owned and bred by Mr Jim Joel and in 1967 he won both The 2000 Guineas and The Derby. As a four year old the following year he added The Eclipse and then went on to win The King George, a race in which he broke down and was immediately retired to stud. Although not a great success at stud he sired The Queen's Oaks and St Leger winner Dunfermline.
It doesn't get much better than putting Michael Jarvis and Sir Michael Stoute into the same syndicate! Both trainers have enjoyed outstanding careers and need little introduction but it is also important to point out that, despite their high stature within the trainers' ranks, they both provide the warmest welcome for our owners at each of their historic yards.
