Metaphoric looked to be a Cup horse in the making in 2008 following two victories at Ascot, the second of which was the Fenwolf Stakes (Listed). Prior to this double, he was a very respectable third in The Queen Alexandra on the Saturday of the Royal Meeting, despite having been badly hampered. Unfortunately Metaphoric suffered a setback which prevented him from returning to racecourse action in 2009.

This grand old servant is in really good form and Michael is now beginning to step his exercise up in the hope that he will move into fast work in August. The plan is for him to run at Ascot in The Fenwolf Stake (Listed) on 26th September, but there is every chance that he will be ready sooner than that judging by the way that he is currently progressing.
