Prompter at Highclere Stud in October 2008
Winning at Chester in August 2009
This son of Motivator is a real chip off the old block in that he possesses the typical Motivator head, shoulder and general outlook; a very nice colt with plenty of ability. This colt has done particularly well and there is no question that he is a more substantial horse to look at this year.
Prompter was a disappointing fifth at Leicester on 15th July. He broke well and Hayley Turner elected to make the running; he was rather keen through the early stages but eventually relaxed into a good rhythm. When Hayley gradually quickened the tempo, he looked to have every chance of being in the frame but did not pick up when challenged. Once Hayley realised she was not going to be in the shake-up, she was not overly hard on him. She was rather mystified by Prompter’s performance as he had been working so well at home and it may be that he will be better suited to a change of tactics and ride him in behind horses to keep him interested.
