Stoic showed tremendous improvement as a three year old finishing last season with an official rating of 97. This athletic looking son of Green Desert won three of his four starts and went to Dubai to compete at the Carnival. Stoic put up a highly encouraging performance on his first run at Meydan on 4th February finishing a highly creditable second from a very wide draw and ran another marvellous race to finish fourth at Meydan on 19th February. Infuriatingly he was given another wide draw on his final appearance at Meydan on 25th February and finished unplaced. It was frustrating that he was unable to win in Dubai but remains a very talented horse who will give plenty of fun during the coming season.

The draw in The Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot ruined Stoic's chances as the high numbers proved to hold a significant advantage. Despite the poor draw, he still ran very creditably and Ryan Moore said afterwards that he would certainly have been in the mix had he been drawn higher. This horse remains in great form and will definitely return to winning ways very soon.
