Rainbow Quest (USA)
This well bred colt by Azamour went through several growth stages last season and was too weak to get on to the racecourse as a two year old. He is a very good moving animal but Michael Bell was unable to get him into fast work last year although physically, this horse is now a lot stronger and hard to fault.
Admission ran an excellent race at Hamilton on 14th May but couldn’t quite peg back Mark Johnston’s very tough Corsica. Corsica went on and made it a reasonable gallop and Admission travelled well. He was a little green when they quickened it up in the straight but Hayley Turner got him on an even keel to chase Corsica. At the furlong marker he looked as though he would win, but Corsica pulled out more to land the spoils by 1½ lengths with Take It To The Max a further seven lengths back in third.
Admission had been entered in The King Edward VII Stakes (Gr 2) at Royal Ascot on Friday 18th June but was not declared due to a minor setback but it was unlikely that he would have run due to the quick ground conditions. He was also entered in The Betfair Gordon Stakes (Gr 3) at Glorious Goodwood on Tuesday, 27th July but again did not run due to the ground conditions.
Michael will enter Admission in the Prix Michel Houyvet (Listed) at Deauville on Sunday 15th August, which is for three year olds only over a mile and seven furlongs in the hope that he will find his preferred ground in France at that time.
