A fine looking son of Galileo, Theology made tremendous physical progress through the early part of last season before making a highly encouraging debut in a typically competitive Newmarket maiden but did not live up to the promise shown that day on his next start on the same track, finishing well down the field although it transpired that he was suffering from an infection. He remains a very exciting middle distance prospect for this coming season.

Theology put up a solid performance to finish 6th beaten seven lengths in a fiercely competitive Gordon Stakes (Gr 3) at Glorious Goodwood. Paul Hanagan was happy to drop Theology towards the rear of the field in the early stages; the pace was reasonably strong and Theology seemed to settle into a nice rhythm. As the field came out of the home turn the pace began to quicken and Theology improved his position in good style. Paul then switched him towards the rail and asked him for an effort and it looked for a moment as if he would join the leaders. Unfortunately, he was unable to find anymore but was always staying on well inside the final furlong by which time the jockey was easing him down.
