Plume was from the first crop of Pastorial Pursuits who made her debut in very testing conditions at Salisbury in early September and then stormed to a highly impressive victory at Haydock next time and looked a filly with a bright future.

Plume finished third on her reappearance at Goodwood on 11th June but her run left everyone rather mystified as despite travelling strongly throughout and with the remainder of the runners off the bridle in the closing stages, when Richard Hughes asked her for her effort she found little and rather stayed on one paced. It may be a combination of her not being suited by the easier ground conditions, as well as resenting the cross noseband, which can happen so Richard Hannon will leave the noseband off next time.
